Rockspur

Jo and Andrew attended Rockspur in Codsall to speak with the members about physical activity.  Whilst there, they spoke with numerous individuals and were told some great stories about what they like to do.

The group also had a dancing activity whilst Jo and Andrew were there, and the members really enjoyed this. One member said ‘I’m in a walking group. I go every Tuesday from 9 ‘til 12. We go to the Bull with the walking group. Go and have a drink and a chat.’ They also said, ‘I go to a disco once a month on a Thursday night in Hednesford, dancing.’

Another member told Jo and Andrew that they will starting Go & Grow soon in Cannock. They will be planting and doing woodwork. They said ‘ I go to the allotment on a Wednesday at Kingswood Trust in Wolverhampton. I strip back the nettles, dig over the soil, look after the animals. There’re sheep, chickens, rabbits, and ducks. I helped build some fences there.’ 

A few of the members explained that they play cricket for Brewood Mixed Ability Team and they play at Wolverhampton, Derby, Coventry, and Shropshire. They all explained how much they enjoyed this activity. One member explained that when they go on holiday with Rockspur, they like to go swimming with the staff.
