Newcastle Locality Forum
Jo attended Staffordshire Connects Newcastle Locality Forum on 17th September. During the forum, there were speakers from 3 charities that wanted to raise awareness.
Firstly, Just Credit Union/Potters Bank Hub, explained how they support people with small loans and but also then help them to save along the way. They are a co-operative and run by members.
Next was a charity called Aquarius who offer gambling support. They support the person with the gambling addiction and their families. They offer 1:1 support with a CBT program.
Lastly, Craig from Uniting Staffordshire Against Hate (USAH) spoke about the work they do to support victims of hate crime. He also mentioned that they provide free training to organisations to support them to understand.
There was then a round robin for every organisation in attendance to explain what they do and then time to network at the end. Jo has taken away some amazing information from this and linked in with other charities that could help to connect with individuals that may want to be involved in co-production.
