Care/Nursing Homes

Andrew and Jo are currently supporting with a co-production project where the local authority want to understand how people of working age are made aware that they are moving into a care/nursing home and what information is given to them. They will be visiting care homes around Staffordshire and asking some of the residents a few questions around this.

On 10th August, Jo and Andrew visited Manor House in Stafford. They spoke with a gentleman with a brain injury about his experience. He said that he was not happy when he first moved in as he did not like the person who owned it. He said the nurses give him information he needs and they answer his questions. He spoke about his boat trip and having fish and chips from the restaurant on the boat. He spoke about his birthday celebration and his birthday cake.

Jo and Andrew will have to return on another date to speak with other residents who were unavailable at the time of the initial visit.
