Collected Stories

Reach have been involved in Collected Stories project.

Collected Stories is about adults with learning disabilities and/or Autism in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent sharing their stories. Collected Stories is a project by Reach. Reach support people in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent to speak up about their lives.

Ed talks about why we need to reconsider how we support people with Down's Syndrome.

Simon talks about his life with a learning disability and explains how he has qualified as a mentor and advocate. Simon delivers disability awareness training to the Police and looks forward to a role as trainer delivering learning disability awareness on the mandatory Oliver McGowan training programme for healthcare and NHS staff across Staffordshire. ​

Rowena talks about her experiences at school and college and the importance of volunteering in her life.

Salwa talks about what it is like to live with autism and how having a diagnosis in later life "triggered an emotional rollercoaster" for her.

Robyn talks about her life in Supported Living , the positive experience that she had with the support that she received from the Dove Service and the issues she has with transport and accessibility.
